first:utility makes Smart Meters available for free

first:utility previously known as first:telecom have been an established competitive telecoms provider since 1994. At the latter part of 2008 they launched into the UK energy market, in itself a major feat, but they did so with a difference.

As an industry first they are fitting Smart Meters to every single customer whenever they transfer to them and with immediate effect are doing so for free.

British Gas 10% price cut!!

British gas has announced today that it will cut gas prices by 10% from 19 February 2009. The reduction will apply to all customers on British Gas' standard tariff, benefiting more than 7.5 million homes.

British Gas is already one of the most competitive suppliers across the UK with their flagship WebSaver 1 tariff launched on the 18th December.

The cut in gas prices of 10% by British Gas will save a typical customer on their standard domestic tariff around £79 per year.
